In this retail store example, each Point of Sale (PoS) counter is connected to the local server over a 54Mbps IEEE 802.11g wireless connection.The store’s wireless access points are powered by an Allied Telesis 8600 series PoE switch that also delivers power to IP phones and IP security cameras. Per port QoS capability on the 8600 series switch enables voice packet prioritization.
